Five Groovy Things

Greetings bloggies and bloggettes!

I haven’t written a Five Groovy Things in awhile.

It’s a great way to stay in touch with people, stay writing/blogging and utilize social media and marketing skills in a personal way.

Plus, it’s pretty damn fun.

With that, here are my Five Groovy Things for the week of November 11, 2012.

1.) Veterans Day

THANK YOU to all the men and women in the armed services! You are the everyday heroes that keep our country safe. We salute you!

2. ) Babel, Mumford and Sons

The story of relationships as told by honest lyrics, gritty vocals, rustic harmonies and folky texture. Goes great with a glass of wine or about six beers.

3.) Apple TV

I didn’t drink the Kool-Aid but I do love this product. It’s basically a WIFI connection to your TV. You can stream photos, listen to iTunes music and video through surround sound, play games, “mirror” your iPad to your screen. There are native Netflix and Hulu Plus apps.

It’s very cool if you spend a lot of time on your iWhatever and are a home media person.

Also, check out Roku for the same idea on PC.

4.) Stir Fry

Recently, I stopped eating meat. I did it for health, to lose weight but more importantly, because I just felt bad about eating animals.

I am not suggesting a lifestyle or telling anyone what to do. I’m just saying for me, it’s the best decision. I am of the “no food with a face” flock.

To that end, we have been eating stir fry one or twice a week. It’s filling and spicy good!

5.) Star Trek Online

Let your Nerd Flag Fly!

I know I’m late to this party but I signed up for STO and am loving it! I’ve fought Borg ground troops and flown my own Starship (USS iCloud) in a space battle.

That was just in the first two missions.

If you are in the market for a nerdy time sponge, beam yourself up and create a profile. If you do, say hi. I’m Marcus E. Janeway.
